Description
In 1810, Madame Clicquot broke new ground by creating the first vintage known in Champagne, a cuvee made up of grapes from a single harvest that was considered exceptionally good. The tradition lives on today, in the form of Veuve Clicquot Vintage. The year 2004 marks the 64th vintage made by the House. That year, the weather during the harvest was especially mild, ensuring the grapes were perfectly ripe and healthy with fruity and full-bodied Pinot Noir wines and elegant Chardonnays.

The initial bouquet is elegant, opening to aromas of crunchy fresh fruit (bush peach), citrus fruit and a mineral touch that comes from our chalky soils. The notes of violet and lilac are reminiscent of the scents of spring, and later, more bready notes, (hazelnut, candied quince and fresh butter) gradually take over. On the palate, the opening is clean-cut. The Vintage 2004 has a generous freshness; the Pinot Noir intensifies its role, lending body to a tense, very lively wine.
